The post office in Williamstown, Missouri (Lewis County) has been a cornerstone of the county’s northern panhandle since the mid-1800s, surviving the rise and fall of the regional railroad era.During the peak years we have been tracking, Williamstown was a major Star Route terminal. In 1912, it served as the "end of the line" for several routes carrying mail from the railroad at Canton or Monticello to the inland farming communities.
