The historical Brice Post Office in Missouri was established in the mid-19th century and played a foundational role in what is now Bennett Spring State Park. The post office was established in the mid-1800s and named after James A. Brice, who homesteaded the land in 1844 after moving from Illinois, situated near a large spring that emptied into the Niangua River. This area later became the site of multiple mills, including Brice's mill and the subsequent Bennett's Mill.
