Scarce brown lake specimen of the 277. The post office was part of the early postal network in Chester County, serving the local rural community. Historical records associate the Chestnut Grove Post Office with the Lewis Plantation at Lewis Turnout (near current-day Mythical Drive). The post office was officially discontinued on December 17, 1887.
