The Reno, Missouri post office operated from 1881 until 1918 in Christian County. Located in the Ozark hills along Bear Creek, Reno was a booming settlement that quickly transformed into a ghost town. In the early 1880s, sensationalized newspaper reports claimed that a massive mineral deposit and healing springs had been found near Reno Spring. Driven by this local mining hype, the town rapidly expanded to nearly 1,000 residents. To serve the sudden influx of miners and settlers, the federal government established the Reno post office in 1881. The local mining boom collapsed almost as quickly as it started when the "healing springs" proved to be nothing more than ordinary fresh water. By the mid-1890s, the large population had vanished. Reno quickly reverted from an exciting hub to a quiet hill-country village consisting only of a small general store, a blacksmith shop, and the post office.

Today it is a designated ghost town in Missouri.
