The Napier post office was established on January 20, 1891. It served the local farming community and railroad workers for several decades during the peak of steam engine travel. As automotive travel improved and railroad reliance shifted, the post office was closed on October 31, 1933. Today, Napier is considered a ghost town or a "vanished" community.
