MO DPO - Morrellton - machine cancel - no longer exists as a town - 1909

In 1893, the name was changed from Anaconda to Morrellton to honor a railroad official named Mr. Morrell. This name remained for exactly 60 years until the office was discontinued in 1953. If you were to drive to the site of the former Morrellton post office today, you would find yourself in the small unincorporated community of Anaconda, Missouri.
