MO DPO - Manda - operated for just 7 years - 1904

The date on this superb Manda, MO full-date postmark is April 8, 1904. The PO was established in 1901 with John Tschappler as postmaster. He named the PO, Manda, after his daughter Amanda. The short-lived communnity that surrounded Tschappler's home, general store, and post office never developed a formal downtown grid or any type permanent municipal infrastructure.

Today, Manda, Missouri, is an uninhabited ghost town. It is officially considered an extinct town that no longer exists as a populated or active community.
