The post office in Elvins, Missouri (St. Francois County) was a major industrial-era facility that served as one of the primary residential hubs for the "Lead Belt" during its most productive decades. While not strictly a "company town," Elvins grew rapidly to house the thousands of miners working for the St. Joseph Lead Company and the Flat River mines. Elvins is now a historic neighborhood within the city of Park Hills.
