The post office in Dissen, Missouri (Franklin County) was a rural facility that served as the heart of a small German immigrant settlement for over 30 years during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Dissen is now considered an extinct town or unincorporated rural area. The Zion UCC (Dissen) Church and its adjacent cemetery remain as the most prominent active physical markers of the original community.
