The post office in Dirk, Missouri (located in Clay County) was a very short-lived rural station that operated for only three years at the turn of the 20th century. Dirk is now an extinct town and has largely vanished from modern maps. The site is located in a scenic, rural part of Clay County near the Fishing River basin. While no commercial buildings remain, the name survives in historical property deeds and genealogy records for the Reams and Tillery families who pioneered the area.
