Extraordinary Indianapolis, IN circle town postmark - 1825

A truly extraordinary Indianapolis postmark used from 1825 - 1832. Script paid marking "25" indicates 25 cents paid for over 400 miles at 25¢ per ounce. The letter was trimmed on 4 sides by a previous owner, but in every other aspect, this stampless folded letter is a gem. The paper is very clean and feels like new, the corners are sharp, no creases or folds...a real gem.
