Baltimore circ. town marking, the D in "MD" is high and underscored - 1847

Both the cancel and the very fine paid marking with a bold numeral "5" inside an oval were stamped with blue ink.

Sadly, we were unable to discover if the brash Mr. Delacour ever received an officer's commission.
